And what's so bad about "working for the rest of your life"?

It won't be until people break out of that mindset of "work = bad; fun = good" that productivity will increase! Work shouldn't be "The 40 Hours" but something you do for a living and that you *enjoy*!! That's what I appreciate with this kid: he loves his work!

It's interesting how it becomes hard to use the word "work" if you like your job and enjoy doing it, isn't it?

Productivity in this line of creative work comes with flexible hours, busy lives and lots of experiments outside the "workplace"... Go out, watch the sunset, surf, enjoy a beer with friends and get your work done, within the time frames, with top quality and THEN you'll be able to consider yourself "successful" (not by the size of you bank account or the amount of hours you spend at your workplace).

@Jenna, no offence, but I don't think many people have problems with CakePHP running on PHP, or PHP for that matter. Just my two cents' worth.

Woah! When I was browsing this site and saw 'Harley Alexander' I knew that name was so familiar! It sure is a small world! Nice to know I helped enough to be worth a mention! :D

Good luck with the book, harley! Oh and hey, if you want to learn about the tinniest little mvc framework around, I'd be happy to be a tutor again! I'm totally addicted to camping these days, and am building a little pushy web chat thing in it, having basically finished my previous publishing webapp, http://egopage.me/

Ruby is totally worth it! CakePHP might be nice, but it's still running on PHP!

lol. I can't believe how many of us 15-year-old web developers there are! Congrats to Harley on the Wordpress book and Nettuts tutorials. I'm kinda a bit sucky and both dev and design, so I try to do good artwork and fail (I can't drawn to save my life) and then try to develop and kinda back away from anything too difficult. Looks like you've got dev nailed :)

Coda is great! I'm about to buy it now because the trial has run out, but I haven't used it to design a site from scratch yet, so I'll probably find out pretty soon what you mean about the sucky-ness of the CSS capabilities.

Strange thing is - I sort-of prefer designing, but I love Maths at school? It's a bit weird. Anyway, I'm definitely going to the best uni I can get into, but I will probably do Maths or something like that. I think not getting a degree is limiting your future options, and makes you reliant on references, portfolio etc and means that you can't change tracks if you need to.

Best of luck to all of us young designers/developers - maybe we should start some kind of international co-operative of young web devs? that would be awesome :D.

wow, inspiring :)
I'm into Web things too and i'm 15, i didn't thought it's possible to get that far like u did in this early age.
It's a bit difficult for me to make a "break through" because of my bad English(self-expression and grammer mainly, Russian and hebrew are my native languages)
By the way can i have your email? (I won't bother) :P

Best Regards, Timur Milshtane.
