Creating GIFs is a topic that we often get asked about. Whenever we’ve published a tutorial on creating GIFs on Psdtuts+, like our Animated Snowman Tutorial, it’s been very popular. We thought it was about time we gave this in-demand but under-served aspect of design education its own dedicated Tuts+ site!

- Tying in with the launch of our newest Tuts+ site we’re also debuting a new Envato marketplace to a select group of Beta testers. If you’re interested in making passive income from your GIFs – meaning you make a GIF once, then sell it many times – we have an exciting announcement for you.

I personally believe use of GIF’s will surely be the death of Flash and other so called “animation” programs.

I think we can all agree GIFs are the future of the internet, I just hope the HTML5 spec has some tags for it,

At first I taught this was real… but I taught it was a little crazy to build a site and marketplace around it.
I literally saw this and thought to myself “WHAAAAAAAAAAAAT????”. Then I saw the images and I was just thinking that you guys could not be serious. Had me going, and scared me at the same time. Yay April Fools.

That’s hilarious – a great April fool’s post – and a reminder of just how sad it is when a business owner actually asks for “some of those flashy animated pictures” on their website. Maybe there’s a real market for gifhole (love the name) after all!
