On April 24-25, I’ll be attending the jQuery conference in San Francisco, and I hope many of you will as well! With speakers like John Resig, Steve Souders, Rey Bango, and other highly respected members from the jQuery team, it’s sure to be a fantastic event! Now, if you haven’t purchased your ticket just yet, the team has given me one ticket to give away for free.
“The San Francisco Bay Area conference is the second of four events planned by the jQuery Project in 2010. The first was the jQuery14 event, and additional conferences are being planned in Europe and on the East Coast for later this year.”
Hosted at Microsoft
“The San Francisco Bay Area conference will be held at the Microsoft Silicon Valley Research Center in Mountain View, California. This venue is the largest that the project has worked with to date (Harvard Law School in ’07, the MIT Stata Center in ’08 and Microsoft New England Research Center in ’09) and we expect to sell out very quickly.”
How to Enter
The winner will receive one complimentary ticket to attend the jQuery conference. He or she will still be responsible for accommodations, and/or travel expenses, per usual. If you’re in or near the Bay area of San Francisco, and would LOVE to attend, leave a comment of no more than three sentences telling us why.

If you aren’t selected to win the free ticket, admission is only $199, which is quite cheap when you consider the level of knowledge that you’ll gain as a result of attending.
I’ll be attending, and will hope to see you there! Will you be going?

Just implementing a dropdown menu in jQuery for a project – I have cobbled it together but would would to go to the event and learn more – plus I live in San Francisco! jQuery is awesome!!
To me jQuery is like the missing features that javascript was meant to have. I find myself using it in nearly every project I work on nowadays, but I still feel like I know so little of its power. Going to this conference would really benefit my web development skills.
I live in San Jose. Would really love to be there.
jQuery simply rocks :)
I have never been to a conference and would love to go, especially since it’s jQuery, something that I use on a daily basis. Also, I love jQuery!
Ive just started teaching myself jQuery and Javascript – after hours on top of both my regular job, and my moonlighting. Ive so much to learn, and I love all the incredible possibilities the framework provides. This conference would be such a great boost to my skills and education!
I live in San Francisco, and would LOVE to attend because I like jQuery. jQuery is awesome! I also know how to follow instructions :-).
I drove across the country to land in San Francisco last fall, worked as a barista for 7 months, and just recently made the transition to a full-time web developer, and I’m hungry to learn everything I can to inform my work! I am thrilled at how accessible this kind of information is. I love my new job, and I know going to this conference would just vastly improve my skillset and efficiency in it.
I use jQuery everyday. I’ve never been to San Francisco. I want to go!
I am an avid jQuery fan! I would love a ticket to the event.
It’s Thursday and I’ve just heard about this conference. I’m a visual designer building interactive mockups from pencil sketches with lots of dynamic alternatives forclients to experience. jQuery is the only way to make that happen, so I wanna be there is there’s still a ticket around…. Thanks!
Who won?
