We have a free static website template to give away today, built by Matt Corner. This theme is called “Aurelius,” and hosts a variety of nice features. If you happen to be in need of a starting point for your next website, feel free to use this one how you wish!

lol, “not worth using now is it” no your right, if you take a template and have zero skills yourself, I guess the idea of customising this and making it your own is to far fetched.
You took the time to comment on here, why not read a couple of the tutorials and try customising your own site.
The fact that this template is a barebones template, is ideal for those who want to learn how to make sites / customise sites and actually learn how things are made.
This is far more useful than those templates that come loaded with stock images and the like.

Just wondering, are these retweets actual visitors or are automatically all the envato staff twitter accounts being looped trough? Just wondering. :)

contact form not working in IE7, do not see the input fields at all

in contact.html, when I commented out the clear divs in the comment form area, then the form showed up in IE7 and did not seem to be affected in FF, not sure why the divs were being cleared like that

there were no clear divs on the comment form on single.html, so that is what I tried

It’s a combination of the “clear” div’s and the Submit button – the single.html comment form does not use a button in the same manner as the contact.html form. Copy the button from the comment form to the contact form and the form shows up in IE 7.

Very nice clean design. One thing that you might want to take into account though is that the blog page is broken in some browser resolutions. Very nice freebie though, with some nifty little css tricks attached.

This is perfect. I wanted to begin diving into some jQuery programming and this is the best way. Tutorials teach people one way and are great… but when it comes to web design and development– I believe the best results are seen from actually SEEING how things are done and having the proof right in front of you.
This is great because if you mess it up– try, try again. It’s not for a client, there’s no attachment– just a template that gives you the freedom to try whatever you want.

While I wouldn’t have a need for this template, I think it’s a great give-away, and praise the spirit of open source, freeware, freebies, freedom, etc. I have been developing an open source e-commerce application, and I love the feeling of helping people and creating something useful. I’m sure Matt Corner must feel the same way.

I’m really glad you all like it. Having been away overnight while this was released, it’s been great to come back in, sit down at the pc, and find so many people happy with it, and looking forward to using it / building upon it.
For those of you saying its generic / looks the apple site (huh?) it’s a freebie, and though was originally intended to be a clean minimal site, it works great as a basic starting place for you to build on. Most importantly its free =D

I like this template, I want to start using it and personalise it, but I have a problem. When i try to use it on my wp it gives me an error. I it says that the styles are missign. Does someone knows how can i fix that?

This theme was originally intended to be sold at themeforest, envato’s premium web template marketplace, but visually it wasn’t ready for themeforest, so instead of letting it just sit around on my computer, giving it away and letting people benefit from it was a much better option. Thats why the documentation implies it is a premium theme, nothing to worry about =)
