We have a free static website template to give away today, built by Matt Corner. This theme is called “Aurelius,” and hosts a variety of nice features. If you happen to be in need of a starting point for your next website, feel free to use this one how you wish!

    Nice cool theme with minimum code, good to have 3 to 4 pages static clean web site based on contents and if you are not looking for heavy images designs!

    Great design! I like the way your css looks Matt! Do you have a css-tidy template or are you doing it by hand?

      I hand coded this css, without a css tidier, but I’ve since changed my style of css writing to this – http://qwibbledesigns.co.uk/preview/control/7/css/layout.css

      I find indenting and new lines makes css much easier to read as coding, and at the coding point of a project, that’s of course the most important thing.

    Does not work. Upon install, there is an error that there is no style.css. I open the zip and it has a styles.css I changed the name, but am unable to get it to work… Fix coming soon? If not, what is the issue with this error?

      I’m afraid you’ve misunderstood. This is a html/css theme, not a wordpress theme, and so until you convert it to a wordpress theme, it will not work for what you want it to.

      I have no plans to convert this to wordpress, so your best bet is to hire someone to convert it for you.

    hey. great template. I just have one problem, the contact form doesn’t work.
    I changed the e-mail in the config.php (there a still the quote).
    When i click on the “submit” button (on-line), it stay on “sending…”
    all the files are on my webserver.

    any idea?

      My problem is solved, when i put contact.html on another folder…weird

    I am a web developer, but I am pretty new to playing around with JQuery. I am trying to get the contact form to work using asp.net c#. Has anyone else tried it? Please send me a few pointers if you can. Thank you very much.

    I am also having trouble getting the contact form to work. I have put my e-mail in the config.php. It’s on the net and if I test it says “Thank you. I will get back to you as soon as possible”. Yet I never get an em-mail through. Can anybody help please??

    Hey coders! How to get the single pages in the portfolio and blog sections to display all the clients and posts without making an individual page for each item?, use php and sql? or am I just really dumb and theres an easy way?

    so if i didn´t missunderstood, this website is completely free and there are no copyrights, where I can get in trouble with, if i´m using this for my class project. I was just making a very ugly website for commercial use, as I saw this wonderful clean template. So please answer quickly if u are able to, I have to finish the Project on Thursday the 17th June -.-

    who can give me a had with this one ?

    i am trying to add:

    file i edit: blog.html

    adding:
    before:

    #wrapper-content{
    background: url(../images/background.jpg) repeat-y #FFFFFF;
    }

    problem:
    a) the background will show only if i use the clearfix class
    b) using the clearfix class will propagate the background over the main #wrapper

    i am n00b, can someone explain me how to fix-hack this ?

    Jeffrey-Bro-San, your code is awesome! Very inspiring to be honest. Started using 960 for a week but you seem to be doing your own grid or did u just get rid of the extra 960 code?

      It’s 960.gs which I’ve minified a bit which I sometimes like to work with. It depends on the project. Anyway, glad you like the code. It wasn’t Jeff that wrote it, it was me =P
