I think these "components" are going to be difficult to sell since you can't really give a live preview otherwise the code could easily be ripped off because it will most likely be xhtml/css/js/xml type stuff.

Video demos?

Themeforest seems pretty unique in what its currently offering now, I suppose it never hurts to expand upon that... but the sort of items that a "componenets" type site would call for is already covered pretty thoroughly by a ton of great framework-specific sites out there, and often for free.

Since those sites are so specific, and their communities so specific, there's a lot more validation and meaningful community input for revisions, etc. You'd need experts on all sorts of languages and frameworks for a site like this to be able to guarantee quality user-submitted content. I don't know how this new site is going to be laid out and the specifics of it all, but seems like it could easily be a project that takes off and runs straight into a wall because of the ridiculous scope that it can encompass.

I hope you launch some good "components" for us to try and buy from there, that would be useful for us in creating our websites. Hope to see those "components" from your soon.

Jesus people, it's not rocket-science.

He wants experienced web-developers who can make things like Event Calenders, Video Players, etc.

Stop making such a big deal about how this is worded.

It's easy... Email Jeffrey something like:
"I have an idea for a map component that will instantly detect the city where the user is and give directions accordingly. I have 5 years of programming experience with PHP."
...And wait for a reply.
