Since those sites are so specific, and their communities so specific, there's a lot more validation and meaningful community input for revisions, etc. You'd need experts on all sorts of languages and frameworks for a site like this to be able to guarantee quality user-submitted content. I don't know how this new site is going to be laid out and the specifics of it all, but seems like it could easily be a project that takes off and runs straight into a wall because of the ridiculous scope that it can encompass.
