I love WordPress because of it’s simplicity. But I’m a .NET developer mainly. There is also a new CMS coming out soon at named NewPress. Thought Results has been built with it and it’s so similar to WordPress. This is a good news for ASP.NET developers.

  • toufik

    WoW, Congrats :)

  • Tim Visser

What’s so awesome about WP? I mean, what IS WordPress?

    • Peter

      Love this comment! :D

    • Nils

It’s awsome because you can do anything with it.
      It’s free to use (opensource)
Here’s just a list of what you can do by using wordpress:

      - Creating and maintaining a Blog
      - Creating and maintaining a Website
      - Creating and maintaining a Webshop
      - Creating and maintaining a Newslettersystem

      etc.

Go wordpress.org and read more about it ;)

One of the great features about wp, is that theres sitting so many developers all over the world, and keeping the system up-to-date. That’s awsome!

This is just what the Tuts+ network needs!

But one question: shouldn’t it be WPTuts+? rather than WpTuts+?

Excellent. I just got deeper into WP with the new features of DW5. I don’t suppose you need more authors?

  • http://youtube.com/IllusionEffect Ferdy

Well, congratulations and hopefully, we’ll be able to find some excellent tuts out there.

I’m just beginning to get into wordpress and this will help me immensely, no doubt. Bookmarked!

  • Jason

I would have preferred if you had called it cmstuts and removed the CMS section of nettuts entirely. CMS specific tutorials are only helpful if you use the cms. It would be nice if you focused more on the in’s and out’s of development and the industry instead of vendor specific CMS’s etc.

    • w1sh

This is a brilliant idea actually. Please rename WPTuts+ to CMSTuts+ and dump all that Joomla, Drupal, ExpressionEngine crap in there and make NetTuts+ a place where we actually learn about programming for the web.

      • EyesOnly

CMSTuts+ for the win, great suggestion!!!

    • http://www.rmwebs.net Rick

I second that! Cant see the justification for an entire tuts+ site just for WordPress when there are several Tuts+ sites that are already neglected.

Make it a CMSTuts+ site and get rid of crummy Drupal and Joomla crap thats needed by non-devs!

  • http://www.getincss.ru Olga

    Subscribed! It’s awesome news :)

  • J.C.

Oooohhh… I love tuts+ network so much. But why don’t you have Mac programming related website (C, Objective-C, Cocoa)? That would be definitely super popular one. Please answer something…

  • w1sh

Congrats Brandon. It surprises me that WP is getting it’s own tuts+ site, but I suppose it frees up room here @ net.

  • http://8gramgorilla.com Gordon McLachlan

Great stuff. Looking forward to checking it out! As fantastic as WP is it’s not perfect so I’m sure the tips will come in handy ;)

  • MARWAN

    hello wptuts

  • Ledigitale

This is great! keep coming the good stuff. It would be nice to have something similar with Drupal 7 tutorials. I can only hope, maybe one day it will happen.

  • http://themeforest.net/user/wizylabs/portfolio?ref=wizylabs Taha Hesham

Not entirely sure if there is enough content for WordPress tutorials to run a whole Tuts+ site. I mean, its theme development, plugin development, widget development and thats about it! In my opinion it could have been implement into NetTuts+ other than making a new whole site for it.

  • http://linkloco.net Felipe
