We Need a Weekly Writer

We Need a Weekly Writer

A weekly writer position has just opened on Nettuts+. If interested in filling the spot, your duties, should you choose to accept them, will be to submit one design-focused article each week. Mostly, you’ll be free to choose your topics, as long as they’ll appeal to our audience. We’re in need of articles which focus on advanced CSS, HTML 5, the intricacies of a design, typography, adding depth to a layout, round-ups, and anything else you can think of!

What’s Required

  1. A solid grasp of the English language.
  2. Consistency. You must submit one article each week – the day to be determined between the two of us.

I’m Interested. What Next?

You have a few options:

  1. Email nettuts@tutsplus.com with your first tutorial idea. I’ll either okay it or request a different topic.
  2. Take the initiative and prepare a high-quality design article, and submit it to nettuts@tutsplus.com.
  3. Leave a comment with any questions that you might have.

When you’re ready to begin writing, be sure to take a look at our formatting instructions.

How Much Does the Job Pay?

You’ll be offered $150 per article for your first few submissions. However, once you’ve consistently submitted a weekly article for a month, your pay will be upped to $200 per article.

I am just about to start studying Journalism and I have a very high competency in English (I received an A in my final levels).

If I was chosen for this position, I would write an article that is based on web development news. I believe that I am right for this place as I am a committed and willing writer – I genuinely enjoy the art of the English language, and writing about Web Development (one of my favourite subjects) would perfectly fuse my skills and interests.

I look forward to hearing from you,

    Alex

  21. Joel says:

  29. Adam Goldschmidt says:

Jeffrey, I’ve sent you a message, you didn’t respond yet (3 days ago). Did you see it?

  30. Marcio Toledo says:

Can it be a making of about a cool layout, covering the good points and analyzing the bad ones? or maybe a review about a new design of a big portal like for ex: the CNN, New York Times and etc?

I like this kind of tour article, it really enhances the reader’s perception about what decisions are the best to solve a problem and how to think in a more critical way, respecting the final users.

  31. Radek says:

Hi Jeffrey, I got a question that has been bothering me for some time now:

    - What about article that is splitted on several parts? Does it count as one single article and will be paid like that, or the author will get paid for each part?

And – whatever your answer will be – is it the same for weekly writer you are looking for and just some regular, random nettus writer?

Don’t want to sound greedy or anything, but I think it’s not only me who’d like to know tha, and it would be great to make that clear for everyone.

Thanks in advance for the answer.

  32. i don’t know anything English language is soo poor then i dont know any word about web designing so …………………………………i fill so lonely

  33. I can only imagine how difficult it must be to tell the difference between the serious inquiries and the ‘broken promise’ [like] ones.

I wish everyone the best of luck!

  34. Chris Enloe says:

Very interested in seeing an article from the new Editor!

  35. Is this open to non-US residents?

  36. g3niuz says:

    yea…
    whats about deadline ?

    would be really interested ;D
