  • Muhammad

67% :( and i just wrote my introduction to web design exam yesterday.

  • http://www.BlaineSch.com BlaineSch

The results should be posted. You should have also asked for a few demographic things such as age, gender, and location so we could see a better visual representation of the data.

    • Jon Ivee Hernandez

@Blaine I like your idea that visualizing the Age, Gender, and Location. Like a survey thing ^_^. That makes me sense for the word “Innovation”. –Thanks.

  • Alphafer

    Easy, 100%

This should be a nettuts facebook app.

  • http://inglesnarede.com.br Renato Alves

I scored 80% of the quiz, not that bad ;)

Great quiz guys looking forward to next ones…

  • http://www.aon-media.com Jon

Only one I got wrong was question #14, in regards to embedding CSS. I didn’t quite understand that question. Good quiz though, nice to be able to test yourself once in a while to see what you really do know, even if it is just basics! Some people get so wrapped up in learning advanced principles, that we sometimes forget the most basic things.

    • http://www.nainteractive.com Nuno Albuquerque

      Me too!

    • Joacim Wimmerstedt

I need 14 explained to me. All of a sudden, i feel so bad! 93%…

      • http://www.thelab.net.au Storm

I too missed question 14 but the real sadness is that my congratulations message read ‘Good Sir’, are we that stuck in the boys only world that we can’t make these messages gender neutral?

      • Vinay Bhat

Answer to Q14: Inline, Embedded and linked.

Explanation of Question 14: Well it’s how you “attach” the CSS to your markup. Inline means adding style directly to tags inside the HTML. Embedded means using tags and linking means linking an external CSS file to the HTML.

By Order of Precedence, it means that, say you have “attached” your CSS in all the 3 ways, then the browser will select Inline styling over Embedding and Linking. So if the browser has all the 3 ways to chose from it will select in this order –
        1. Inline Styling.
        2. Embedded Styling.
        3. Linking.

So the browser will ignore Embedded and Linked CSS if Inline is present, if only Embedded CSS and Linked CSS is present, it will chose the Embedded one.

But still Linking is preferred all above others.

      • Vinay Bhat

“….Embedded means using tags…” Sorry, I meant using tags.

“…But still Linking is preferred all above others.” Sorry, I meant Linking is preferred all above others by the people who code.

Quite a few typos there!, I apologize :)

  • http://localhost Frank

Quiz is too easy…If I didn’t score 100% on this test I would probably find a different line of work.

  • Richard Kalehoff

    100%

Twas a tad easy, but I still liked the test. Looking forward to the moderate/advanced quizzes.

  • http://www.material-designer.com Chris Hendrix

100%! Hah, could definitely be a trick question if for the box width one you declared box-sizing: border-box; Guess that’ll have to be for the advanced quiz.

  • Jon Ivee Hernandez

Missed too on #14 very confusing question.

  • http://www.sahilmepani.com Sahil Mepani

    Whoaa! I scored 100%. I knew it.

  • Jason Smith

    80%

I was a tad surprised at my score. I only dabble with this stuff as a hobby. I also haven’t played with it in months.

  • http://www.webmasterdubai.com webmasterdubai

    man got 100% really great

  • http://www.rahulparekh.in/ Rahul Parekh

    Got one wrong. Shame!

  • contin

Outstanding, noble sir! You scored 93.33%

I failed at question 10, what was question 10?

  • Jesse

If you felt the need to say “easy”, you must have missed the “Beginner” part of the title. If you’re not a beginner, it should have been easy; no need to call it out.

    Love the idea overall though.

    BTW – 100%

  • teebee

I missed one and got 93.33% but I would like to be able to click on the one I got wrong and see the correct answer.

    • teebee

It was question #5 which was “What’s the effective width of the container? #container {width: 100px; padding: 10px; margin: 20px;}”. I knew when the question was presented that I didn’t like it because (in my mind) that is dependent on browser!

  • Marcelo

Great quiz… A small suggestion: At the scoring page, I would like to be able to click on a wrong question and know what the question was… Or number each question… It is hard to re-do the test just to check which question you got wrong… And by the way, I barely passed (I scored 70-something)…

Keep up the great work, you fellas…

  • kenth

100% right answers! I miss a share button to brag about it! :)

  • Kopeka Simposya

    Hooray!!! I scored 100%. C’mmon!

  • clint

Woooo hooooo…..93.3 without leaving the test. The only question I missed was the very last one and I almost selected the correct answer. :)

  • http://contact@eredesigns.com Mike

The “descendant or ancestor” one almost got me, but 100% any way son!

  • http://pixeltodesign.com Michael Arnaldo

86.67%. Not too shabby. Being asked a question vs actually writing the code different. Some of the questions were worded king of tricky. Overall, looking forward to more quzzies!
