Abbreviations are an inevitable part of being a web developer. HTML, CSS, HTTP, XML… the list goes on and on.

This Darth Vader edition should be a moderate test of your web development force-fu. Don’t get too cocky though! The upcoming ones will make you cry! Make Yoda proud!

      Initialism are still abbreviations just like an acronym is an abbreviation. Think of abbreviation as a parent from which the above two descend.

    I see that CAPTCHA is indeed an acronym, however it sounds like it is more of a case where someone starts with a real word and instantly makes backronym for it. I don’t think we got an acronym like LASER in quite the same fashion.

    I got “undefined You scored 94.44%” – what is undefined? Anyway, I faltered with SWF – I always thought it was Shockwave Flash!

    The last question should get partial points, originally SWF stood for Shockwave Flash, but they changed it later on. Those of us old enough to have learned Flash that far back…. ah, nevermind, fun test. thanks.

    There’s a bug on some of the questions where i KNOW i answered and answer and then the results say i answered differently.

    e.g:

    YAML question:

    I answered: yelm animated markup language

    but instead it resulted in: YAML ain’t markup language

    anyway nice quiz!

    If you know the way most answers are built up, you can guess easily 2/3 of the answers right without even reading the questions ;-). A very often made mistake in multiple choise tests.

    For example the first question:

    MVC

    A. Model View Change
    B. Model View Controller
    C. Master View Controller
    D. Model Viewmodel Controller

    The correct answer is B.

    Why?
    There are three answers with ‘Model’, three with ‘View’ and three with ‘Controller’. In most cases the answer with all three words in them is the right one!

    No big deal but it isn’t the slightest bit obvious that there is even any content present when Flash isn’t available – too me 5-10 mins to realise that it even could be Flash.

      This isn’t flash based, if I’m understanding you right. The content is loaded through JavaScript at the end, after the rest of the page is loaded.
