Wish AJAX hadn’t been turned into such a widely used buzzword. A lot of this stuff is more DHTML. But whatever. It’s all javascript, and javascript is good. Me like. Me like a lot.

AJAX has indeed because a badly used buzzword. But they are actually two different things. AJAX stands for Asynchronous JavaScript and XML and it is simply a way to communicate with a web server without making a new request in the browser. DHTML stands for Dynamic HTML and it is a set of technologies used for dynamically modifying a web page (html+css+javascript – and is usually a lot of “pretty” that results in animations and what not that rival Flash).
