I just don't understand how PHP being "free" as an advantage. There is no programming language out there that will cost you anything. Performance wise, that's arguable (compiled vs. interpreted)-- it comes down to the code itself. If you ask me, the major advantage of PHP is it being open-source and having the largest community (which means more resources available). Everything else isn't. Nice article.
