got loads of ideas from just skimming through :)
i like them all :D
nice collection thanks
Nice!!
Herez another one : stylerex.com
shameless plug
This is a joke yes?
Really? Needs some graphic wok, IMO
What kind of work?
Are those marbles?
ugly.
Correct, ugly.
it is ugly for sure. i would rather have no portfolio at all
I like the site. Its awesome!!
People like you shouldn’t be advertising your services as graphics/web designers/developers.. You’re only making the web worse by doing so.
Learn how to design/build websites properly before trying to sell yourselves as “highly talented” web designers.
Are you serious? If you guys “specialize in HTML, CSS, jQuery and PhotoShop” then I’d hate to see what you’re sh*t at. Back to engineering fellas. You haven’t got the faintest idea what’s involved in building a website.
Enough has been said.
Its ugly for sure.
whenever there’s something of very “low” quality, always indians are behind it!!!! In SEO, Coding, Freelancing… you are everywhere biding very low and delivering stupid, sh*t work.
Sorry kumar, for being the first (and may be the last) indian to do high quality work!
I find nothing wrong with the site.
Can anyone point out something?
Gratz, you got yourself some traffic. No go stand in the corner.
To start with, if you claim your work is detailed, at least check your spelling dude, “Designed and Deveoped”???
Second, your graphics interfere with the purpose of the site; is hard to find the navigation menu past the (abstract?) art and those… balls.
Third, er , why should I go on? Good luck with your company, but I guess you won’t be getting too many letters from the fans of your work.
wow that was amazing. Metalab was my favorite but they are all pretty good. I haven’t gone through all of them but will do.
Thanks for this. Really helpful!
I’m astonished to see my blog grouped with all these great designs. Thank you!
They are absolutely amazing! Thanks. It makes me feel like a very mediocre designer though ;)
Nice !!
Inicio = Home
The name of the web is tanq
Great “tutorial”
yeah really. they paid you for this?
I agree Bill. This isn’t up to NetTuts’s standards.
nice set of sites here.
really great.Thx
All designs are great!
Thanks a lot for featuring my site!
nice list
Thanks
Nice list but some of them are a little over-engineered.
These are great!
How do you find all of these?
I skipped through a few of these and looked at a print preview, wow what a mess.
Some pass web developer toolbar accessibility checks, others don’t.
I wouldn’t call this ‘exceptional web design’
Good catch. Got to love people who call themselves “web designers” yet know very little HTML. I recoded a site a few months ago that looked great in the PSD, but each page was JUST a graphic, with image maps for linkage!
There are some exceptional designs. They may be poorly executed or implemented as HTML but they are great “designs” none the less.
Must see Flipick at http://flipick.com… Looks gorgeous!!!
Must see Flipick at http://flipick.com
Looks gorgeous!!!
Really stunning websites here. Although some have been mentioned a lot, there are some that are absolutely amazing that I haven’t seen before, Thanks for the post
Peter Pearson site im my eyes is great i love it dont get me wrong there all great but that one just stands out for me great work
nice collection. nice to see my friend peter pearson featured.
Of the sites that I previewed, I liked MetaLab’s the best.
I think I see typos on the page
#9 should read “Gavin Castleton”
and it should also read “#1″
Not a bad list… it seems the horizontal thing is getting to numerous time for me to change mine up
Nice thank you.
very cool, thanks for sharing.
These are mainly portfolio sites. How about some designs when the challenge is actually hard, the business requirements are strict and well defined, and the stakeholders are diverse? This is silly.
What is this? Smashing Magazine now?
No – this is Nettuts+.
Well played
hard but true. Nice websites but, erm.. what is the point of this article?
Hmm, dont get a rest, just because the image gallery a few days ago was amazing :)
Cool. So I can add some links to cool designs and make $300???
It’s 100 and that is for tut plus articles only that they offer 300!
Stop complaining!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
lol I can guess who “Anon” is. :P
*cough* *cough*
Tuts quality has been lacking lately… :)
Did you see the one before? I bet you didn’t know that. You just like to complain. If you think you are better, why don’t you make one?
You also need to add some extra articles like these so they are refreshing and inspire us. Nettuts need to have these once in a while!
Why hide under an “Anonymous” to insult me?
I’m not going to answer your questions because it would only lead to more bashing.
But I will say this: Getting $150 for putting together a list of nice websites is interesting to say the least.
A lot of these designs are pretty amazing, but it almost seems like they all have some checklist where they need to make sure that they put, “Hello…my name is _____ and I’m a web designer.” As creative as these designs are, you’d think there would almost be a better way to accomplish the task of describing your site without having almost identical intro text with many of your peers. I’m all for being clear about the goal of the site, but I also think that some ways of doing things are way too over done. I’m not trying to be derogatory, though, ’cause the talent on this list is amazing.
Yes, the “Hello…my name is _____ and I’m a web designer.” bloody great big heading has become rather clichéd hasn’t it? :)
I think this list is a bit underwhelming. Many of the sites simply feature a large photograph or background image and little else on top of that. http://cssremix.com/ and http://www.cssheaven.com/ are much better design inspiration resources.
Typo on Mooty :)
Some fantastic web sites there, motivation to get working on my own!
My favorites: 9, 14, 17 & 26. But the cow isn’t bad too ;)
Nice collection.
Than’x.
Kind regards
Rata
I started out with a couple favorites, then found they all were! Exemplary! Well chosen and kudos to the designers!
@Neil This is posted in Articles, not in Tutorials.
Thanks for this collection, atm. i am building my own portfolio so this comes really good for little inspiration.
@Rob
They are exceptional from the visual aspect, most of them. Apart from that you are also right, Webdesign is not just graphicdesign.
When it comes to web designing, it’s so easy to end up creating something that looks like yet another of the millions of websites out there. It lacks originality, freshness and that special edge that helps a site stand above the rest. As a smalltime designer myself, I’ve faced similar problems time and again.
That’s why, I find such lists as this very helpful. Almost always, I end up learning something, feeling inspired and greatly motivated to start thinking afresh.
This is a very inspiring list. Thanks.
great collection !
Thanks for the list!
I’m sure everyone’s noticing the new design trend with portfolio websites….
“Hi, my name is _______. I am a ________.” I think it’s great to sell what you do right off the bat like that, but at this point isn’t it getting a little over used? I guess I just think it would make you blend in rather than stand out to start your page off looking exactly like everyone else’s portfolio does.
Anyone have any thoughts/comments on this? :)
Excellent Resource
good
Great collection. Some of them are surely going to my favorites!
Thanks!
Thanks for including my site with all these other great ones!
Awesome, Thanks for the feature :)
some sites also posted in Vandelay Design Blog :). This site is really awesome
How did this site miss your top 30 list? I guess it must have been 31… oh well
http://www.webking.com/
An underlined, bold and 24px size “Lol”
another great website from the 92 or 93 era.. must be built with the Front Page 98!!
There’s a date at the bottom that says 2007. Bad ain’t it.
HAHAHA, good find!
loving it!
Super !
Thanks…
