  12. Stephen Webb says:

I’m always interested to see web design CV’s and portfolios, whether they are templates or real designers sites. The five offered here show quite a range of layout options and styles.

‘Smart CV’ certainly stands out to me as the most modern and boldest layout covered. I particularly like the usage of headings with the large fonts and contrasting colours. Using black blue and pink is quite a mix, but is used to good effect here.

It would be nice to see some tutorials on CV and portfolio design, maybe covering the key points to include, some additional features and how to go about this. Designers are constantly updating their online branding and portfolios, so maybe covering how to perfect a portfolio would be useful.

  24. aldrin says:

looks good, for online portfolio site

  25. Great,
    Thanks for references!!!

  26. Justin says:

What this doesn’t mention is that no matter how good your portfolio site is, there are a thousand other candidates with just as good portfolios vying for the same position. Do yourself a favor, make a decent portfolio site and focus more of your attention to the skill of taking a lot of rejection and picking yourself up by the bootstraps and continuing on in spite of it all. I’m trying not to be a downer about this but this is the reality of the situation; we can’t all be Dan Cederholm or Cameron Moll.

  27. Diego says:

    Excelente idea!!!

Voy a diseñar la mia. =)

  28. Stephen Way says:

    http://swy.me/resume

  29. Umair says:

That’s a great article. I’d like to see such templates for paper resume as well. These are so perfect!!

  30. Gal says:

When did people start putting their pictures on a resume? I thought that was taboo!

  31. DrDiv says:

This is good, but do you really think you want to share all this information on your website? Wouldn’t it be a better idea to use linkedIn for example, or have the employer request a PDF file from your website? A random person shouldn’t have to find out what school I went to and what companies I worked for, or my home address and phone number for that matter.

First one is definitely my favorite also. Great clean design.

But again, is this really the right way to do this..

  32. Jonathan says:

Some very nice templates but I’m wondering something – how do recruiters react to these sites when they see them? It would be nice to get some feedback from the other side, so to speak. Would a well designed CV website help or hinder?

Has anyone used a web CV template and been successful in getting the job, and what feedback did you get on the CV?

Quick PE moan – is the author of number 4 about? Why is the CSS included via JS?

  33. AzzePis says:

is where some more examples? i like it all, and will be great to have some more :)

  34. Chetan says:

    Simply awesome…

  35. shpyo says:

no 1 and 3 are the best for me!

  36. Andre McFarlane says:

I have made many a CV in my time, and woah OMG seriously people, these are so unprofessional… terrible.

  37. Alphabetix says:

Cool resumes. Number one works for me. There should be a company that specializes making this available to the masses.

  38. Dave says:

smart CV fails on Firefox once you start resizing the text. Liquid it ain’t. Actually, this is first page I seen fail because I made the text too small.

  39. Gokhan says:

Are those resume sites meant to be just examples, or can we download them as a CMS template whatsoever to customize and use for our own resumes?

  40. Hermitbiker says:

…. cool templates for resumes…. I find the most simple and to the point styles work the best…. most potential employers are very busy and get annoyed quickly if they have to search more than 2 pages…. if you can keep it to one page it’s even better…. on-line or printed resumes…. keep them as short as possible !! These are just my feelings about the concepts !! :)

  41. Love some of these, would use some for more than just resume too

  42. Mia says:

Jeffrey Lebowski??? LOL – oh that just stopped me dead in my tracks ! LOL – the Dude doesnt send CV’s maaaaaan ! hes the Dude , he doesnt work – he just bowls ! =)) no, seriously – 3 of these are really smooth – the rest …. mehh :| ok kewl roundup dudes :D

  43. Sample cv says:
