Today we’re pleased to introduce the newest member of the Tuts+ family: Cgtuts+. There we’ll be publishing tutorials and video training on software like Autodesk Maya and 3Ds Max, Maxon Cinema 4D, Blender, Zbrush and Mudbox. If you’ve ever wanted to freely learn how to create 3D animations, art or elements for games, now is the time to start!

We’ve launched with a massive 194 minute video training series on how to create art for current gen games. A couple of months ago, on our PLUS site, I wrote a tutorial focused on creating a static search engine that spidered down through a site hierarchy and searched each web page that it found for a given text string. This type of search was aimed at owners of web sites consisting of static HTML pages. In this tutorial + screencast we’re going to do the same thing, but this time instead of navigating folders and subfolders looking for pages, we’re going to search a database instead. Join today!

Now that we’ve added Audiotuts+ to our Plus family, Plus members will begin to receive weekly bonus sample packs and tutorials for Audiotuts+. We hope you’ve also been enjoying your access to exclusive tutorials, video lessons, source files, brush and vector packs from Nettuts+, Psdtuts+ and Vectortuts+. Thank you so much for supporting the sites and helping us to cover costs - with mounting bandwidth, content and management expenses, these sites would not exist without their Plus members!

With 4 sites now offering Plus content, $9 a month gives you universal access to each - a little over $2 per month for each site. This moves us closer to our goal of offering the best possible low-cost, high-quality education to creatives. And if you’re into motion graphics, Aetuts+ will be the next site to go Plus!

If you’ve ever been interested in learning more about audio, now is a great time to start. Plus members can login and download a 65-piece drum and bass sample pack from the Audio Plus section. To read more about the first Audio Plus download, click here. Not a Plus member yet? You can learn more or join now.

Create a Beautiful Website From Scratch

Coding a Beautiful Website From Scratch: Plus Tutorial

May 13th in News by Marko Prljic

As a sequel to last week’s popular tutorial, “Design a Beautiful Website From Scratch”, we will be converting our beautiful design into a valid HTML/CSS website. Even though we used the 960.gs template, we will not use its CSS framework to build the site. Instead, we will be coding this design from scratch! It’s always important to create strong and clean markup first, Why is that? One of the reasons is because, if we need to change our design or rearrange some things in our web site, we only need to make modifications to our CSS file and never touch our markup.

If you’re a PLUS member, let’s get started! If not, join now!
