For the entire month of February, developers were encouraged to submit their best scripts and components to CodeCanyon. With over $6200 worth of prizes to win, it was a battle consisting of many high level items. However, the competition has since concluded, and after two weeks of deliberating, the reviewers and I have made our choices for the top three spots!

I’m extremely excited to announce our first ever CodeCanyon competition. For those unfamiliar, Envato recently launched its newest marketplace, focused specifically on selling high-quality scripts and components for PHP, JavaScript, ASP.NET, and Java. As we’ve only recently launched, we’re hoping to build up our repository with a host of fantastic scripts and components, across all of the categories.

I’m both super excited and sad to announce the winners of our first annual Anniversary competition! Why sad, you might ask? This contest was extremely close – close enough to delay this announcement for two days! As our contestants are aware, I intentionally introduced a grand prize that was far beyond the second through fourth place prizes. Knowing that, it became essential to spend as much time as possible determining the true champion. Each of the templates listed below were deserving of the first place seat, but only one could be crowned.

Many factors were considered when deciding: aesthetics, documentation, coding practices, average sales per day, etc. So without further ado, here are the best of the best.
