I can definitely back this up that it is awesome software. The company I work for use the Email Manager and Site Manager and it is awesome. Everything is so simple to use and the systems themselves are very powerful.

I’ve just done a site using the Shopping Cart as the CMS and it’s one awesome package – the folks at Interspire sure do know what they’re doing.

Since my client has just bought the shopping cart, I won’t enter – but good luck to everyone that’s going to enter!

    • Chris

      Hey,

Have you a link to the site you just built using Interspire? I want to know about them it looks like a good piece of software :)

      • http://sffarlenn.net Laneth Sffarlenn

Hey Chris – please know this is my first client, and the site is still a few days from total completion. I’m still testing things at the moment, but as far as I can tell, most of the features are working.

Awsome post, can I ask does Nettuts or any of the network sites use this software? And if not why do you not use them and also which do you use instead?

    Cheers

    good post !

  • Steve

I have used interspire many of times, and it’s by far the best ecommerce software available.

The email marketer is just wicked.

It may look expensive but it’s deffinately cheap for what it does.

  • http://www.utopiestudio.co.uk/ Matt Liverpool

Think the the article titlle is a bit sensationalised, don’t you? Free! Think it should read something more like ‘win A (singular) copy’!!

  • Jarrad Clark

Love Interspire’s products. We’ve been using them for about 3 years now and they are top of the line. Very cool use of AJAX and web 2.0 goodness and very feature packed. We’ve made about $35,000 from 5 clients just by private labelling their software and onselling. Kudos for the competition Interspire!

Does the Interspire Email Marketer handle bounces, feedback loops, DKIM, reputation, etc?

    • http://www.interspire.com/ Chris B (Interspire Staff)

Bounces are handled/processed by the system. Feedback loops aren’t at the moment, but I do have a solution for that. (if you do win/purchase – feel free to contact us and ask for your message to be passed on to me)

Regarding DKIM, Email Marketer is not an SMTP server – generally the signing of messages & insertion of DKIM headers is something your MTA/SMTP server will need to do (We do recommend PowerMTA – http://www.powermta.com/ if you’re after a high performance MTA which also handles this for you)

Reputation and deliverability entirely depends on the campaigns & messages you’re sending. Email Marketer includes the basics such as throttled sending per user/per hour and generally your MTA picks up where this leaves off with per-recipient domain throttling/back-off handling etc. Of course it ultimately comes down to how you manage your email marketing.

Thanks for the interest & good luck everybody!

  • Chris

How can you build up a email user database to use the software?

i.e. If you use Googles email subscription service to gain email address can you import these contacts?

How does the email software work?

  • Rachel

Am I correct in thinking you can sell on your own customisted versions etc of the shopping cart/e-commerce version? Just asking because this line on the webpage made me want to confirm:

“You can then on sell to clients as is, or bundle it with value-added services such as hosting, design and training – the choice is yours.”

    • Steve

      Yes I think you can.

  • http://www.antonagestam.se/ Anton Agestam

I don’t think I have any use for these tools …

  • http://www.ademaweb.nl Jeroen

will the software be available in different languages? Dutch in my case?

  • http://twitter.com/dwpers Daniel Wood

I’ve been using Volusion for years, and have tried others out there (osCommerce, Magento, X-Cart, etc).

Would love to win this as it looks like THE complete package.

  • http://simon.vansintjan.org Simon

This is a really smart marketing move. Just imagine how many people will now see the name interspire and go check it out. Especially in the design community.

  • http://www.webdev3000.com Csaba

Guys… What would be really interesting for you is the quality of their back-end code.

I helped a friend of my who bought their articles directory software and it crashed on about 20.000 articles and I discovered that their Mysql queries are simply horror.

I don’t know who is responsible for that part of their software but he probably learned MySQL for max. 2 days.

The best of all was when I found a query where they grouped rows by unique column that was primary index at the same time. So query took about 30 seconds, after fix it was 0.5sec.

    • Shaun

No offense, but you look like Harry Potter in your pic. Awesome.

As to their software, what is this “articles directory software” you speak of? I’m looking for it on Interspire’s site but can not find it.

      • http://www.webdev3000.com Csaba

I’m not Harry Potter ;) I don’t think he knows anything about MySQL

The script I’m talking about is Article Live. Probably they renamed it to website publisher because old URL http://www.interspire.com/articlelive/ will redirect you to http://www.interspire.com/websitepublisher/
BTW.. I’m do not want to confuse you , their software looks great but seems to be created with different programmers and some parts of code are more than bad.
So you know… You create excellent code but there will be one “programmer” who will create just one small part of code and it will destroy all your effort.

    • Robin Boltt

You sound like a hater dude, seriously. Do you even know anything about MySQL? The code in their website publisher product is almost perfect. Proper use of indexes and normalization, as well as inner joins and foreign keys.

Learn MySQL before you post next time or I’ll tell Hogwarts to put you back in your cage!

      • http://twitter.com/karthost Roy

You guys are getting confussed, Article later renamed to Website Publisher up to version 4.5 are both the same thing.

Website Publisher 5.x+ is a totally different (built form ground up) piece of web based software.

      • http://www.webdev3000.com Csaba

Get ArticleLive, study it for few days and then you can reply. If you didn’t make this step you don’t know what are you writing about…
If you downloaded ArticleLive and studied it as I told you, you are the one who don’t know anything about MySQL.
If I see something like this : SELECT * FROM … it’s surely unprofessional.
Go and maintain web site with more than 600.000 pageviews/days as I do and then you can talk about who khows something about MySQL ;)

I hope Roy is right and version 5.x is totally different and written by different programmers . If so… then its a history.

  • http://www.getonabudget.com Eric J. Gruber

Wow, I could definitely use this. I’ve tried Interspire’s products before through my work, and it was top-notch. That e-mail marketer software is great.

  • bob

I cant believe you would do such a shameless marketing waste of a post. This site is about tutorials is it not? So not only are you filling this with crap, you invite readers to fill twitter with advertising! If the title of the post says it’s free, then maybe it should be about something that is free. If its a competition where a single individual gets something for free, then say so.

rant over, nettuts is usually awesome, dont mean to be overly negative.

  • http://www.brandensilva.com Branden Silva

Wow there software looks great. I just watched the full video demos and I’m impressed. ecommerce sure has come along. I hoping I win :) I have big plans for this store.

  • http://www.smashingshare.com/ Waheed Akhtar

Cool, I love to be in!!

  • allomatoerus

If you do a bit of research on these guys and you will see that many customers feel ripped off in terms of support and their upgrading policies.

  • http://blog.balootisme.com baloot

does Interspire have guarantee that email send by their system (Interspire email marketing) are not into Spam box? whats the difference between Intespire email marketing n Aweber or Getresponse. I’m using their services right now.

If interspire are better than those two, i will buy. :)

    tq

  • http://www.mushroomdigital.co.uk website design stoke

    Count me in guys :)

  • http://www.code-pal.com Sumeet Chawla

Hmmm very interesting… though my chances of winning are pretty slim… but what the heck, am in too ;)

  • Samiel

Interspire Shopping cart software has so many bugs in it. And support is pathetic.
They want you to pay top dollar for something you are going to regret later on and made by pathetic programmers.

  • http://www.mymailmarket.com Steve

One of the best solutions I like is Omnistar Mailer at http://www.omnistarmailer.com. I like it because you pay a one time fee and the features are great.

  • http://www.etatvasoft.com/php-ecommerce-solutions/prestashop-customization.php Dasen Mare

As I have used Interspire, I would say that it is one of the powerful shopping cart solution that is easy to customize, even there is no need to know about any programming language to deal with it.
