  11. Steve Robillard says:

oh well not top 3 but I am always torn with these type of solutions and how well they integrate (and inspire confidence, support usability etc.), and their ease of use.

  12. The prize includes a store which costs $24.95/mo… how long is that cost covered? A month, year, lifetime? :) Looks like something I would love to try out.

  13. Chad says:

And if my comment did not count as real (just wanted to be in the top 3), I have been looking for solid and fast way to get a great online store going… this looks very interesting.

  14. kyle says:

Yeah, we use Interspire a good bit. Pretty good product.

  15. Joe Casabona says:

Hmm This seems much better than my current solutions, which include WP-Ecommerce, which I’m not a huge fan of.

  16. I’ve been exploring some software a lot like this.

  17. So, it’s basically a hosted solution? It seems to have potential for people who wants a quick solution, but then how would you flip it for a client (example, how would you sell this solution to a client)?

    • NickyB says:

Yeah that is why I said it seems interesting. My partner works with Magento a lot and I wasn’t sure if this was like that or different. I guess when I have a bit more time I will do some reading on it.

Hi NuFuture. Take a look at the video here: http://www.bigcommerce.com – for designers, you have access to HTML and CSS via FTP. There’s also a browser-based file browser and editor, a diff tool to compare changes to files, over 50 professionally designed store templates and Drag & Drop design mode to customize the layout using just a mouse.

Of course there’s more to it than that, but about 40% of our clients are web designers who in turn build a store for their clients and they love BigCommerce because of the features above, the free automatic upgrades (which don’t break template changes), the phone support and the quick release of new features (Google Website Optimizer is the main feature coming in the next release in a few weeks)

      Hope that helps!

      Cheers,

    Hello

I am trying to decide between

    1). CoreCommerce
    2). BigCommerce
    3). 3dCart

Core and 3dCart support Google Web Optimizer but sadly BigCommerce does not support it.

Core does not give Design Customization power to the user, whereas 3dcart and Bigcommerce do give some power.

I am waiting to see if BigCommerce would implement Google Web Optimizer, if they do, I will sign up instantly

    • Jessica says:

I have a 3dcart account and they’re very good. They give you full access to the HTML and CSS files so I’ve had no problems updating them for my store and for my clients.

I’m curious, what made you not sign up with 3dcart if it has everything that you need? I tried out Bigcommerce and the pricing was bad, and the technical support was borderline humiliating.
