30 Days to Learn C#: New Premium Course

Tutorial Details

We’re pleased to announce our latest Tuts+ Premium course: “30 Days to Learn C#.” My aim is to introduce you to the C# language (and a tiny bit of the .NET Framework), and give you a clear understanding of the fundamentals needed to start writing applications in C#.

All I ask for is a few minutes of your time each day for a month.

This is by no means a fully exhaustive look at the language, but I will get you familiar with the language and platform. I won’t lie; some of the material is easier to grasp if you have some programming background. But I do try to explain things from the standpoint of a complete beginner. So even if you haven’t programmed before, I hope you’ll find my explanations of programming concepts and fundamentals understandable.

All I ask is for a few minutes of your time each day for a month. Most lessons are between ten and fifteen minutes. Naturally, some are shorter and some are longer, but I promise none go over 31 minutes!

Ready to become a better programmer?

Love these tutorials. Would love to see some basic, intermediate and advanced series’s. Keep up the awesome work!

It’s about time that a language that actually gets used in a production, corporate environment gets addressed on this site. I’m looking forward to checking this out.

    • Mark

      Bit of a narrow-minded comment.

You can use PHP quite happily in a production/corporate environment, however some people choose not to for a variety of reasons (not strongly typed, slightly more work to integrate them into ‘Corporate’ technologies e.g. Exchange servers ).

If you actually understand programming concepts and how to program correctly, then there is no reason why PHP cannot be used in such a place.

      • http://www.jeffreysweet.net Jeff Sweet

Not necessarily narrow-minded, but I do agree with you that PHP can be used in a production/corporate environment. I’m just simply commenting on the lack of articles/tutorials on major platforms/software used: Oracle, SQL Server, Windows Server, ColdFusion, .NET, Visual Studio – basically software, DBMS, and server software that someone has to pony up and pay for.

While free, open source is great and useful, many many developers work in a Windows environment, programming .NET, using Oracle or SQL Server. I’m simply concerned with the narrow-mindedness of the articles as of late. That’s all. The qualities of the articles are great, I just wish there was more variety.

There’s no reason PHP couldn’t be used in such an environment. OC was just commenting on the fact that it usually isn’t.

    • Ben

      Silly answer

    • http://www.hostinsight.com Dylan

I never understand why corporates go this route when there so many free open source and often (usually) better alternatives. But if you want to stay current and employable you have to learn .NET and the rest. Where I come from if you don’t know ASP, .NET this cuts out about 80% of job availability… *sigh*

    • vinay

hey i am a student from BCA field and want to do project then can you suggest which language will be good for me to do project and will make my project interesting…….pls reply me…..k

  • Mark Byers

Amazing, I loved the 30 day jQuery course. I also just started a C# distance learning course with Columbia. This should be a great learning companion. Thanks

  • Notsu

    How about objective-c ?

I am sure its going to be a great course. recently I have stop coming at nettuts because of quality of tutorial related to .net framework. I took plus membership for Umbraco but it was not as per the standard of nettuts. I hope this C# is going to be as good as other tutorial that are for php and ruby.

  • Paul

Netuts is getting better than lynda dot com IMHO

    • OScar B.

A friend and me were looking where to ‘invest’ our money. We took a deep reading on major tuts on Lynda and ThinkVitamin. But The first one seems too Adobe oriented.

And as he and me are web developers (server side and client side) we decided that the best choice was nettuts/tutsplus.

We do not regret at all.

    • http://net.tutsplus.com Jeffrey Way

Ahh thanks guys. It’s ramping up quickly too! We’re add around five new courses a month.

  • Nate

Is there a way to purchase just this series and not have to pay for the entire month?

I remember being able to buy specific tutorials on the marketplaces.

  • Craig

Is there a way to sign up for this as a newsletter (similar to the Jquery in 30 days session email reminder)?

    • Chris

I’m interested in this too. In fact, I signed up for tuts premium because I thought all the “30 days” courses would be like the jquery one. :(

    • http://net.tutsplus.com Jeffrey Way

Hey guys – we hadn’t planned on it; but if there’s a lot of demand for that format, maybe we can figure something out.

  • http://borgizzle.com borgizzle

Awesome! Although I know a bit C#, I’m curious to see what this course have to offer!

Hi, I have arrived to your site looking for tutorials at google, it look likes a great site for learning, thanks for your help about. I made my site at http://www.infoproduct69.com/ by myself, but I think I need learn some more with your help.

  • Bluroon

Wow. My request came true, cannot wait. I hope this tackles ADO.net. Maybe nettuts could also do some JAVA tuts because applets is hot today.

This course focuses on the C# language and delves very little into the .NET Framework; so, ADO.NET isn’t covered. That’ll be covered in another course.

      • Bluroon

Thank you. I’ll for that :)

  • Nate

I just bought the subscription and am very glad. Jeremy explains the content very well and he is a phenomenal tutor. He teaches with passion and you don’t loose focus.

Admittedly, I did skip over a lot of the beginner stuff but anyone can get started with this series and can truly learn to program.

I would recommend this series to all the .NET haters who have bashed Jeremy for his tutorials on Nettuts and Microsoft.

    .NET is extremely powerful!

This came at the right time in my learning, perfect. I hope to see more .NET courses on here in the future! Thanks Jeffery!

    Hello Admin,
Is there any way we can just purchase a course instead of Montly or yearly?

    Thanks

PHP is more difficult than C#
The IDE for C# is better than PHP but it pays and very expensive!
