CSS: Noob to Ninja – New Premium Video Series

Tutorial Details
  • Language: CSS
  • Difficulty: Intermediate
  • Format: Video

This exclusive premium video series will take you from being an absolute CSS “noob,” all the way up to ninja-status, capable of wrangling even the most obnoxious of browsers into place. The series begins with the basics: the syntax, properties, etc. However, each new video expands upon the previous, as you work your way up and improve your skills. This week, you’ll have access to Parts 1-4 in the series. The remaining six episodes will be available later this month!

If you’re switching over from a graphic design career, or are hoping to finally dig into CSS from scratch, this will be the series for you. And even if you have a modest level of experience and want to take your skills to the next level, learning the latest CSS3 techniques, the latter part of this series will surely quench that thirst! Possible to get a preview of this? I’ve been considering for months whether or not to become a member.

This does look like something that I’d be willing to start my membership with. However, I’d like to have a preview first to see what exactly is included in this video series.

    Thanks!

      Hey Bryce,
Having Tuts+ membership is one of the best things you can do to help you development skills. It is the best web development resource available and has the most update to date tutorials available!

Definitely the best investment I have ever made!

    • http://www.vectelligence.com Ilie Ciorba

Totally agree, the same situation here :)

  • Khalid

Don’t bother asking for a preview, they’ve a money back guarantee on the premium stuff.
I too have been interested in the premium thing for a while and seeing this in Google Reader was enough to bite the bullet.
$9 is pretty good value, but a money back guarantee absolutely seals it for me.

  • dronix

    Jeffrey:

I’m a premium member and yet every time I go to the site, I have to login again. Additionally, I always forget where the login button is and spend too long looking for it.

Please get a cookie thing happening and make the login more obvious on the site.

    Thanks,

    Jamie

Very beneficial to learn and improve your CSS style and learn some new techniques.

  • Elektric

    High Jeff,
How about a tut on how to design that UBER COOL 3d pixel wallpaper you got there? Cinema4D? Looking forward to the other parts. Also did you test the Chrome Web Developer yet?

    • http://net.tutsplus.com Jeffrey Way

Hehe – That wallpaper was actually for a recent Envato marketplace competition. But you’re right, it make for a cool tut on one of our sites. :)

  • http://loudtshirts.com/ LoudTshirts

“noob to ninja”? Seriously? For a website for creatives, I thought you might have come up with a more creative name… Disappointing.

    • http://www.jeffrey-way.com Jeffrey Way
      Author

Umm – The “Blank to Ninja” titles have been in use for a very long time. And Envato’s own Rockable brand has been using ninja references long before that SitePoint book. See here: http://rockablepress.com, and feel free to pick up a book.

  • Bala

    Hey, It was very useful
If its possible make some video about converting PSD files to > HTML + CSS > WordPress.
    it should be great.

    thanks

    • http://www.jeffrey-way.com Jeffrey Way
      Author

I don’t think the series will cover that aspect; however, we do have full PSD -> HTML or WordPress conversions available to our Premium members. :)

  • fesh

You can get this kind of tutorials for FREE! just Google it!

  • anujv73

    why premium?

  • GorillaWma

    Why premium?

Well you can’t find many tutorials like these one. It’s so detailed explained that you can learn that just watchig any video once. Thats why this is worth to be on premium. Any Jeffrey Way is not just anyone, watch his tutorials and you will know. He want to explain to all things so detailed, and he is doing that in way he can’t do better or anyone else can.

      Hey thanks. :)

  • http://noobowned.com/ CyrusKafaiWu

    Hello,

I am interested in this series of noob to ninja. Does this include CSS3 and maybe some photoshop on creating templates.

Also, how long usually do the tutorials take to complete?

    Thanks
    CyrusKafaiWu

  • Elektric

Jeff, at or around 14:13 in part 4, ‘Floats.mp4′, you select and copy a slice from the browser window. How did you do this? Did you make a selection with the ruler in the Web dev. plugin? I work on a pc and I use Firefox, how would I make a selection in the browser that I can copy and paste into PS?
    Thanks.

    • Pete

Would love to know the answer to this too… I’m thinking it might be a mac thing?

      Pete.

  • macutan

This tutorial looks awesome, a friend of mine told me about the series, but I was wondering if you might have a similar thing for HTML noobs. I am familiar with HTML but would like to introduce a business partner into it so that he knows at least the basics…

    Any recommendations?\
    thanks

    • http://www.jeffrey-way.com Jeffrey Way
      Author

Not yet – but if there is enough of a demand, I’d be happy to create one.

  • Yasir khan

    1st thanks Jeffrey Way,

    thanks in advance..

  • Andrew

    Jeff,
I’m a premium member and very happy with the product. However, every time I get to a premium tut I have trouble finding where to login. Shouldn’t you have a login in the header?

Pointers to login would be greatly appreciated.

  • Andrew

Ok found it under Hello->members area.

One problem with the way this is implemented is that once i login i have to search for the tut that I was on.

    • Andrew

So maybe it is too early in the morning but I can’t get the tut started.

What should I be clickiing on? I tried the vid above but my pointer doesn’t change when I hover it and clicking does nothing.

      Does this site support Chrome???

  • Jon

I am a premium member, where do I find the videos series to download it?

    Thanks

  • kevin
