Excellent Tutorial!

Just one question: why must the plugin be called after the HTML code? Im writing a similar plugin and have found it will only function if the plugin is called after the HTML. Any body have a solution to this?

That! Is one of the best things I have watched in ages. I have been trying to find a way to build a tooltip like this where I can bring in tooltip content from a database call.

I’ve ended up using jQuery dialog for now but if I can use a custom attribute on a tag to store the data to appear inside it, I may well re-write the function to do something like this.

At the Creating our tooltip section, the last code block is a little wrong.

[code]if (defaults.rounded) {
$('#tooltip').addClass('rounded');
}[/code]

it has to be:
[code]if (settings.rounded) {
$('#tooltip').addClass('rounded');
}[/code]

It’s right in the final code.
